Short story

1.    An old  woodcutter who accidentally dropped his axe into a river and,
2.    This was his only means of livelihood.
3.    He sat down and wept. Taking pity on him, God sent his angel to help the old woodcutter.
4.    He dived into the water and returned with a golden axe.
5.    Was this what he had lost, angel asked from woodcutter.
6.    but he said it was not,
7.    Then he dived back into the river and returned with a silver axe.
8.    Was this what he had lost, angel asked again,
9.    But the woodcutter said it was not.
10.           Then he again dived back into the river to find out his own axe
11.           And returned with his tool and  again asked to confirm him
12.           Was this what he had lost, angel asked,
13.           Happily the woodcutter said yes, it was.
14.           Impressed by his honesty, the angel allows him to keep all three.

15.           Moral: Honesty is the best policy.
